My Two Cynts for 2023 | Untethered for Overflow

Free. Intentionally not bogged down by negativity, toxicity, and pessimism. Purposeful, optimistic, and productive.

I am naturally a happy person. Although I usually see the glass half full, I’m not naive and I know every day isn’t Sunday. Sometimes, the glass is almost empty and it must be filled. I’m that person who tries to fill the glass to the brim.

In 2023, I plan to be very intentional about keeping my spirits high and encouraging others to do the same. I’m the one who will say, “Let’s fill the glass to overflowing.”

To achieve this overflow, I will guard my optimism by any means necessary. My original thought for my 2023 word was “unshackled,” because it describes my feelings. However, “untethered” depicts how I plan to move through the next year. I plan to be free to live my calling. Free to make things better!

At times this year I was disappointed in the actions of people I trusted. I sometimes let lies and misperceptions slow me down. I tried to be okay with things that were absolutely not okay. This won’t happen in 2023.

So much good, hard work must be done. Family members and friends need constant support and encouragement. Employees deserve a great place to work. People in our communities are striving for better living conditions. All our children should have permanence and stability. Sick people desire wellness. Victims of domestic violence need safety and security.

The list is even longer, but you get the point. There’s so much to tackle to make the world better. I just can’t imagine spending my time worrying about others’ negative actions. So, it’s time to reset and enter 2023 untethered.

We’ve all been chosen to make a positive difference. I must maintain a certain mindset of optimism and freedom to continue the journey that I’ve been chosen to travel.

I’m very excited about 2023. I’m pumped up about things my hands will touch to make the world better. I’m juiced about serving people and fired up to lead and follow.

Join me, beautiful people! Let’s free ourselves from restraints and fill the glass until it overflows. Someone’s life or livelihood depends on us.

Happy New Year! I am untethered for overflow!
