FIRST QUARTER CHECK-IN

Happy International Women’s Day, beautiful people! I hope you are as productive as you want to be during this last month of the first quarter. Having had the honor of working at a Fortune 100 company for 36 years, I am trained to think in quarters, and I’m obsessed with delivering on my quarterly objectives.

So, how am I doing? In a nutshell, I am on fire! 🔥

  • Personal website finally complete.
  • Visits with CASA kid conducted.
  • Mentoring program announcement made and applications reviewed.
  • Corporate board duties handled for quarterly earnings announcements.
  • Keynote addresses delivered in January and February and prep calls completed for Women’s History Month speaking engagements.
  • “Save-the-date” cards for my dear friend’s retirement celebration sent.
  • Consulting projects completed with excellence and joy.
  • Family duties handled with precision, laughter, and quick meals that I don’t cook. I’ll be back in the kitchen for Easter.
  • And, last week, in recognition of Women’s History Month, I taped my first 2026 episode of My Two Cynts About the Good Stuff at the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas’ DreamLab.

I am so proud of my friend Jennifer Bartkowski and her incredible team. Their Girl Scout DreamLab in the southern sector of Dallas reflects their commitment to creating a sustainable future for all girls. And of course, this creation leads to strong communities and a bright future for everyone. Being with two amazing Girl Scouts, the wonderful GSNETX staff, and two of my good friends, was quite an uplifting experience.

What was also an uplifting experience was last Wednesday night’s SMU 60th Women’s Symposium. I think I was one of the last people to leave the ballroom. I left the event knowing that our future is in great hands.

And let me not forget the inspiring Quality of Life Council meeting at the Dallas Regional Chamber (DRC) on March 3rd. Our new council chair, Hussain Manjee, delivered powerful remarks that included a recognition of what ALL people want; they want to be safe, seen, and secure. I am still meditating on these words.

I should have known that when I closed out February with Cisco’s super talented, innovative, and brilliant team, it was a sign that March would come in with a bang. I feel productive, purposeful, energized, and grateful.

So, how are you feeling? Are you achieving your quarterly objectives? What will you do in March to ensure that the quarter ends in a phenomenal way? Who will you get to help you? Remember, we are not going at it alone this year. Happy March! Let’s spring forward together.
