My Two Cynts – Compassion in Action

Hello, beautiful people! I hope October was good to you. I spent time with lots of people and felt many aspects of my life collide for good reasons. I leaned in on “compassion in action” and want to take it to a new level in November, both in my personal and professional spaces.

Grace is something that Kyle Waldrep identified for me during our Intersections podcast conversation. I’ve embraced it even more and explored it further during my conversation with my sister Hattie Hill during the recent Prosper Company Seat at the Table forum. Benefit of the doubt. Seek to understand. Disagree respectfully. Meet empathy with effort. Courage to be curious. Set the right tone at our kitchen table. We talked about all of this and more.

In these highly charged times, I know I can offer a little more grace and I hope to receive some in return. Enjoy My Two Cynts on GRACE below. Y’all know I’m the acronym queen. 😉

GRACE

(courteous goodwill, mercy, and consideration)

GRACE enhanced for the times:

Growth through Curiosity – educating oneself about the stories of others

Respect that Reciprocates – having regard for the feelings and rights of people

Authenticity with Humanity – staying true to oneself while loving your brothers and sisters

Compassion in Action – demonstrating sympathetic awareness of others’ distress coupled with a desire to alleviate it

Engagement for Life – committing daily to fostering unity and building community, including pulling bystanders off the sidelines
